Is it raining?
No, but the ground is wet.

Trời mới vừa mưa xong.
Have/has been -ing là thì present perfect continuous.
I/we/they/you  have (=I've etc.)  been  doing
I/we/they/you  have (=I've etc.)  been  waiting
I/we/they/you  have (=I've etc.)  been  playing
etc.
he/she/it  has (=he's ect.)  been  doing
he/she/it  has (=he's ect.)  been  waiting
he/she/it  has (=he's ect.)  been  playing etc.

A. Hãy xem mẫu đối thoại dưới đây

Dave: Have you travelled a lot, Jane?
Bạn có đi du lịch  nhiều không, Jane?
Jane: Yes, I've been to a lot of a places.
Dave: Really? Have you ever been to China?
Thật ư? Thế bạn đã từng đến Trung Quốc chưa?
Jane: Yes, I've been to China twice.
Dave: What about India?
Jane: No, I've been to India.

Khi chúng ta đề cập tới một khoảng thời gian liên tục từ quá khứ đến hiện tại, chúng ta dùng thì present perfect (have been/ have travelled ...) Ở đây Dave và Jane đang nói về những nơi mà Jane đã đến trong cuộc đời cô ấy (là khoảng thời gian kéo dài đến hiện tại)

Xét ví dụ này:

a friend of John's: một người bạn của John.

Chúng ta đã biết cách dùng này trong bài Sở hữu cách.
Giả sử bạn muốn nói một người bạn của tôi, bạn không thể viết a friend of my, mà phải dùng một đại từ sở hữu (possessive pronoun).
